There is always a great feeling that comes from giving. I got across this really heart warming news about an Eagle Scout who spent a good amount of effort for the senior citizens in his community.

Eagle Scount Dilum Aluthga built a bookshelf, collected books and raised money for the senior citizens. He said that it is good to help out the senior citizens and the community since it has given him a lot of things already. He said that what he did is just something to repay the community. He was then awarded by the Senior Citizens for his good deeds. He also built another bookshelf with a collection of books but this one is located in a children’s home.

An elderly couple had dinner at another couple’s house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen. The two elderly gentlemen were talking, and one said, “Last night we went out to a new restaurant, and it was really great. I would recommend it very highly.”

The other man said, “What is the name of the restaurant?”

The first man thought and thought and finally said, “What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love? You know… the one that is red and has thorns.”

“Do you mean a rose?”

“Yes,” the man said. He turned toward the kitchen and yelled, “Rose, what’s the name of that restaurant we went to last night?”

76 year old Andre - Paul Bordon was honored as the Senior Citizen Volunteer of the Year Award. What is so special about that? The thing is, he is a reformed drinker. Amazingly, he was saved. He used to be an alcoholic and he is not afraid to talk about that out loud/ He said that Alcoholics Anonymous saved his life and he wants to save the lives of others too.

Bourdon is also a legend in selling lotto tickets charity. He was praised for his selling skills. He was also a very active volunteer at almost all of the organizations in Cornwall.

He is the 39th person to receive this award and he said that the award was very enriching, it keeps him alive and he said that he had two brothers who died early and were n ot able to become volunteers during their time. He added that he would not be one of those old people who would just stay in front of the TV until the end of the day. He knows that he has work to do and that work is to save the lives of others.

After nearly 48 years of marriage, a couple was lying in bed one evening, when the wife felt her husband begin to fondle her in ways he hadn’t done in quite some time. It almost tickled as his fingers started at her neck, and then began moving down past the small of her back. He then caressed her shoulders and neck, slowly worked his hand down over her breasts, stopping just over her lower stomach. He then proceeded to place his hand on her left inner arm, caressed past the side of her breast again, working down her side, passed gently over her buttock and down her leg to her calf. Then, he proceeded up her inner thigh, stopping just at the uppermost portion of her leg. He continued in the same manner on her right side, then suddenly stopped, rolled over and became silent.

As she had become quite aroused by this caressing, she asked in a loving voice, “Honey, that was wonderful. Why did you stop?” I found the remote,” he mumbled.

The fear of breaking a bone and a hip is something that elders often carry behind their minds. However, a new government study claims that hitting their head could bring a variety of serious and deadly consequences. Brain injuries actually account for half of all the deaths from falls.

The researchers said that a lot of people often get the notion that a fall is not serious unless they broke a bone or a hip. They no longer worry about their heads. They found out that half of the cases of fall deaths are linked closely to brain injuries. The other deaths were because of heart failure, strokes and chronic conditions that only worsen because of a fall.

As people age, the veins and the arteries become more fragile. They can be easily torn during a sudden blow or a sudden jolt to the head area. This can cause a serious problem such as the deadly brain bleed. The severity of brain injuries is not apparent. Some people may not even lose consciousness and then death will strike in about an hour or 2.

Being careful is a key ingredient in avoiding injuries.

It happened again. Why is it that criminals always strike on those who are weak? The body of a senior citizen of 84 years old was found in the woods and she was believed to be from Wiltshire. A blunt weapon was used to clobber the woman until she died.

According to the post mortem examination that was conducted, the woman died of multiple head fractures by a blunt instrument which is still yet to be found by investigators.

However, a 45 year old man was arrested and is currently undergoing medical treatment before being questioned.

If you are an elder, if it is not too much, you might as well stay at home. There are many criminals out there who are targeting the elderly and most of the time, they succeed in doing so. It is best if you could be accompanied by someone whenever you are going out on a trip or even if you are just going to buy something in the market. Safety should be on the A-list priorities.

I found a couple of facts about getting old and I find it pretty amusing. I hope you like it. There is some truth injected into it and it was written in a really funny way. Enjoy!

First — Eventually you will reach a point when you stop lying about your age and start BRAGGING about it.

Second — The older we get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

Third – Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know why I look this way. I’ve traveled a long way and some of the roads weren’t paved.

Fourth – You know you are getting old when everything either dries up or leaks.

Fifth – One must wait until evening to see how splendid the day has been.

Sixth – Being young is beautiful, but being old is comfortable.

Seventh – Long ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today it’s called golf.

And finally — If you don’t learn to laugh at trouble, you won’t have anything to laugh at when you are old.

With the higher cost of living and the rising health care costs, Japan has found themselves in the brink of a suicide spree as the number of elderly people who committed suicide rose by almost 9% to 12,107 making up about 40% of all the cases in Japan.
They are particularly concerned about money and the rising costs of health care services. The number of suicides went up by 2.9 percent to 33,093 which is the second-highest figure since records started back in 1978.
Japan has the world’s highest suicide rates. This is something that is not to be proud of. Police said that the main causes include depression, illness and debt. Senior citizens are now attempting suicide due to the constant rise in health insurance costs. They are concerned that the state will not be able to support them properly.

It can be noticed that criminals have often targeted senior citizens. Most of them for assault, robbery, rape and a lot of cruel acts as well. Brown Country Triad thought of something that will help our dear senior citizens. They are collecting old mobile phones and are distributing them to the seniors to use in emergency situations. They are reconditioned and will only work for 911 calls.

This is a great way to help suppress crime against seniors because for one, they will be able to contact authorities immediately and the second is the fact that there will be no more complications in the use of the device mainly because it works only for 911. One press, and they are connected.

If you are within the area, you might as well donate your old mobile phone. Drop them off at the Brown County Aging Resource Center.

After a series of indecent attacks over elderly and vulnerable women finally got nailed and is sentenced for 17 years in prison with a 14 years non - parole period. According to the case, he exposed himself to 26 women and raped two women aged 74 and 89 inside their homes.

According to the victims, they were forced to commit degrading acts and one of them even got taped shut in the eyes and in the mouth. He said that he chose them because he loves gray hair.

Leigh Bradley Youlten was a father of 2 children and was once married. After the divorce, he was diagnosed of having a psychosexual disorder. Psychologists and the people believed that this could be the triggering mechanism of the series of crimes that he did.

After giving out the sentence, the man stared straight and showed no emotions. However, some were not satisfied with the sentence that was given to him. Among these people who are not satisfied is the son of one of his victims. He thinks that the assailant deserves more time in jail and should be punished more.
