Most of the sports drinks today says that they are much better than water. This is true since they contain Ceralyte and Pedialyte which are specifically for fluid replacement which will keep a senior hydrated.
So after a nice exercise, it will be good to bring along a good bottle of sports drink.

Why stroke occurs among adults only
Filed Under Health | Leave a Comment
The main cause of stroke take lots of years to accumulate. The cause of stroke is commonly related to atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease which takes years to progress. It will reach a point where blood flow is restricted to the brain. Logically, older adults get this problem because of the years that it accumulated. Another big factor is the change in the elasticity of blood vessels as one ages.
As early as now, people should engage in exercise and a healthy diet. Smoking should be stopped and drinking must be moderate. Regular check ups must also be done as one becomes older. This is to ensure that you are physically fit.

Self Defense for Seniors
Filed Under Health | Leave a Comment
Seniors are pretty much vulnerable to crimes because of their health status and basically the way they lost their strength that they used to have when they were still young. Petty crimes such as robbery usually happen to seniors.
There are groups that are designed to help seniors in self defense. http://www.kidpower.org/SERVICES/Seniors.html offers a couple of good programs for seniors. It helps them demonstrate awareness and confidence, advocate for themselves with friends, family, and people in positions of authority, avoid being targeted as a potential victim, set boundaries that are clear, firm, and polite, stay safe from verbal attack, address worries about safety during a home invasion, and use their voices and their bodies to protect themselves if someone is being threatening. The workshop will provide them with great self - defense skills that will give them their confidence and their freedom to stroll around the park all day long.
