As bad as it sounds, criminals and burglars often target the seniors. One thing is because of their strength. Burglars believe they can overpower seniors easily. Most burglaries occur in the daytime. The burglars take advantage of the poorly closed windows or doors to gain access inside the premise. To avoid this, make sure that all windows and doors are secure. Try to keep the shrubs trimmed to eliminate hiding places of burglars. Try to arrange your appliances in such a way that it would be easy for you to escape and find an exit in case of a break-in. If you see anything suspicious, then contact authorities. Also, make your phones accessible just in case you need to dial 9-1-1.
Remember to keep yourself safe all the time and be on the lookout for others as well.
