Employment is a tough topic for seniors. Good thing that the bi-partisan bill has been introduced in the Senate to somehow prevent the projected dramatic declines in the workforce following the retirement of the baby boomers. It shall be providing incentives and shall eliminate the barriers for older Americans who are wishing to stay in the labor force longer. The bill will also encourage employers to recruit and retain older workers.

The bill was introduced by Senators Gordon Smith, Herb Kohl, and Kent Conrad. Senator Smith said that if we retire baby boomers, they will cause a significant gap in the workforce. He said that we need to ensure the door stays open for those who are willing and able to remain an active part of the workforce.
