Seniors get kidney infections too. These infections are usually the result of common urinary tract infection which makes it way to the kidney.

A greater risk surfaces if the person has a history of conditions like cystitis or kidney stones. The risk becomes higher if there is chronic or recurring urinary tract infections and if the infection is caused by aggressive stains of bacteria.

Here are some ways that can help reduce the risk of kidney infection.

1. See your doctor if you have UTI and you can easily treat it with antibiotics.
2. Urinate after sexual intercourse.
3. Do not wait too long to use the bathroom. If you need to go, then just go.
4. Drink plenty of liquids.
5. Have some cranberry juice because it can help control bacteria that can cause infecitons.
