Macular Degeneration

Macular Degeneration is a group of diseases that cause the sight sensing cells of the retina to lose function and eventually lose the central or detailed vision. This usually occurs to people ages 50 and above. There are 2 types of this disease, the wet and the dry. Most people acquire the dry one. The dry type produce yellowish deposits called drusen beneath the retina causing it to lose sensitivity to light. This does not cause total blindness.
To treat this, professionals recommend a Micro Acupuncture treatment which lasts for about 20 minutes. After 5 treatments, the patient will then be evaluated and tested in the visual field scan machine.
