Meals on wheels is a generic term that is widely used nationwide for organizations that provide food to seniors in the comfort and luxury of their homes. These are not run by the government but are run by loose individuals usually composed of volunteers. They are funded by local authorities, donations, churches, civic minded people and even senior residence homes.
