Chest being flashed on the screen, fiery kissing scene taking the entire hour of the show, and romantic stories so sweet that it becomes quite unrealistic. Such films bug you not because of its pattern, but also, it bothers you that there are stars who supposedly have a good role, but destroy the quality of their character because of their poor performance. And you wonder why someone like them take such roles when they are untalented in the first place. Beauty? Fame? Young age?
As the words echo from your mind, you, once again, wonder why there aren’t so many people on your mature age are no longer hitting the screen. Maybe because those people are already on their grave….?
Kidding aside, it somewhat hurts not to see actors and actresses showing the best they’ve got. And, if they have a part on a film, they are just going to land a minor role, for sure.
But before you get totally bitter on this matter, let me tell you that some there are old folks that are not a “has been.”

Ian McKellen – His magnificent roles as “Gandalf” and “Magneto” have earned him as a very outstanding actor who can play diverse characters without much efforts. He can be a lovable white gown-wearing hero at first then become a magnet-controlling villain after. And he did this during his 60’s.

Patrick Stewart – The character that can only go against Magneto, Patrick Stewart amazingly played the role as “Professor Xavier” in X-Men. His mysterious aura can make you look at him for a moment and wow you as soon as he starts acting. Despite the mystery he projects, he can still show some friendly charisma with his faint smile and expression, making him more befitting with a protagonist role.

Sean Connery – The very first actor who portrayed the role of the sleek and the cunning agent 007 James Bond. Sean Connery has been in hut action films where he is the lead character. Despite his gray hair and gray beard, he is still hunky and fit enough to be an action star. One of his stunning performance was Entrapment. A police agent pretending to be a notorious thief who deceives his gorgeous leading lady, Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Kelly Bishop – She’s this rich, glamorous, sometimes-annoying-but-has-a-good-heart mother of Lorelai Gilmore. Kelly Bishop is already 63 years old, yet she is still has good posture, grace, and poise that make her land this role. Just looking at her makes you think that getting more mature doesn’t have to be getting more wrinkles and looking all dull and boring.
