There was a time when I got acquainted with a care giver who takes care of a 92 year old senior. She told me that the senior was having problems regardinig adequate sleep at night. He usually sleeps during the day and at night, he was having problems getting a shut eye.

Based on my understanding, sleep patterns change as one gets older. Less sleep happens at night and a brief nap in the afternoon is needed. There must then be an effort to reduce the daytime sleep in order to compensate for more hours of sleep at night.

It is then perfectly common top have a little problem sleeping but then the important thing is to keep the senior well rested and make sure that they are comfortable with their sleeping habit.
