A lot of people especially seniors already know the basics on what to do during cases of emergencies. There have been trainings and drills that are done for special cases such as fire, earthquake, health emergencies, robberies and many more. However, let us not take out the huge fact that drills and trainings are far from reality. When the real emergency comes, are we prepared?

Seniors, among all others, are delicate ones. When they get excited and tensed, their bodies react in a violent manner unlike those of the young age. So, as a general rule of thumb, to calm down a senior, tell them that everything will be alright and bring them to a safer place. In most cases, you have to ask them to take deep breaths and think of things that would make them happy and calm. Take their minds off the current situation so that they would be able to be free from the stress.

Remember, seniors’ mindset and bodies are way too different than the younger ones so delicate care is always needed. If you already called the emergency response team such as 911, then assure your senior that everything will be alright.
